Dose education really lift people out of poverty?
In 21 century, over one billion population living in poverty, existing on less than US$1 a day. More than 2 billion live on less than US$2 a day. Many people are suffering poverty, just like living in the hell. Starvation, disease, and children mortality, those miserable circumstances are the consequence of poverty. Thus, addressing the poverty is imperious and imperative demand. As Clarke and Feeny (2007) said that who are interested in development and interested in improving the lives of the poor, must therefore be primarily interested in ending poverty. Therefore, we hope to understand the poverty deeply. Therefore, we hope to understand the poverty deeply.

According to Clarke and Feeny (2007), education is a powerful tool in eliminating poverty. Based on this statement, our research question is that does education really lift people out of poverty? In our research, we aim to investigate the relationship between the education and poverty in order to identify whether they are relevant. Several countries including Brazil, Columbia, Fiji, Japan, Lebanon, Singapore and Uruguay are chosen in the research. And we will try to use and find out the latest data from different credible internaional organizations, such as World Bank or CIA. In agenda, we first define what is poverty and education. And then we will respectively discuss the relationship between education (IV) and poverty (DV).

In our process of research, we discover that the correlation between education and poverty is weak. In fact, there are high level educations in chosen country, but the poverty is elevated. We found out that although education affects poverty, other factors including social mobility, discrimination, corruption and social instability also lead to poverty. Social mobility is the channel to mobilize upward or downward in society. If Lower social mobility in country, it indicates that the people are less opportunity to climb upper class and earn more money. Discrimination is one of the facilitator of poverty. Under discrimination they are treated differently and unfairly, because of their race, ethnicity, age, religion, gender, and so on. If people under discrimination, they will lost many opportunities to share the interest in society and easily to fail in poverty. Corruption usually causes people suffering in poverty. Because of the defalcation in government, the citizen lost the deserved social welfare. Because of social instability, the development of country is stagnating. People are therefore suffering in poverty.

Hence, education is not the single factor, there are multi-dimensional factors root in those counties raising poverty. Therefore, in our research, we will also find out these factors how to affect the poverty in a country and then compare those phenomena. Finally, we will conclude all of the data so as to get the deep understanding in poverty.
